After a short bit of messing around with uploading to our new image server, I'm pleased to say that you can upload avatars again!

I'm glad that all went by fairly hassle free, and I feel like this change will be better for PokeDS overall in the long-run; freeing up space from images on the main site means that we'll have more space and bandwidth for site functions and stuff.

In addition, it also means moving hosts and making backups will take a lot less time in the future because images will be stored separately. Woo!

Seeya guys around!

I've moved all the locally hosted images on PokeDS to our new image server at images.pokeds.com. Don't worry if you see broken images as these are all fine and to be expected as I try to fix up the image links. In the meantime, I ask that you please do not upload a new avatar.

Thanks and seeya around!

I got notified by our host this morning that PokeDS has an excessive count of files and may be suspended if this isn't fixed. I figured its probably because of all the sprites and artwork we're hosting, so I'm going ahead and moving those over to the external file hosting service, Amazon S3.

So, no worries. All things will be fine, and PokeDS is not in any danger of having to go down; I'm just changing the way images are hosted! So in the meantime, if you notice any oddities and broken images around the site, fear not, for it's the result of me messing around with the new setup for image storage.

Otherwise, I've started uploading content for channels and every channel has content of some sort, so feel free to explore around.

Until next time, this is Tiff of PokeDS. See ya!

Those of you who keep up with Pokemon News might recall the Pokemon + Nobunaga's Ambition Crossover that was released in Japan about a month back.

Pokemon ConquestAccording to Nintendo, this game is now scheduled to be localized for a North American release on June 18 this year, under the title "Pokemon Conquest."

For those of you unfamiliar with the crossover, Nobunaga's Ambition is a turn-based tactical RPG, similar in style to games like fire Emblem or Final Fantasy Tactics. Pokemon Conquest essentially takes Pokemon and puts them into the world of feudal Japan with grid-based strategic battling. It will be available for the Nintendo DS.

The game was pretty well-received in its Japanese release, and having watched gameplay videos, I would say it looks pretty good, and I'm excited to pick up a copy for myself! What about you guys?
