Alright, guys, since releasing adoptables, it seems we have had an increase in registrations from some quiet users. But looking through the site analytics, it seems like adoptables are being used. So to invite some of the new users who came here for the adoptables to maybe get a little more interested in hanging out with the community on-site, I went ahead and made a thread just for you guys to post eggs and get clicks/views.

In addition to that, I've tweaked leveling and experience a lot since the initial release, and it should be much easier to level your Pokemon now and hatch your eggs now. Sorry for the really slow pace before! And finally, at the heart of this update, I'd like to say that I went ahead and brought back the berry tree from old PokeDS for you guys to play around with.

Currently, berries don't do anything, but they are being recorded, and I do have specific uses for them in mind.

So stay tuned and enjoy the site. Seeya guys around PokeDS!

Woah, where's that Tiff gal been? She's been one heck of a lazy webmistress these days!

And I will say, it has been far too long, PokeDS, it really has. I've been a good bits busier this summer than I certainly hoped I'd be, and for the most part, this just means I've been very, very tired. But that's no excuse to slack off on PokeDS, for sures. Especially not when we've hit our 100 member mark!

That's right. There's a 100 and more users on PokeDS now, and I certainly think this calls for a celebration. And so, while it's still largely a work in progress, I thought I'd go ahead and try to release our new adoptables feature now.

I'm not totally sure how much I'm going to work on this feature. I'd like to expand it beyond being just your run of the mill click and hatch adoptables with features like exploration and dressup, but a lot of this will depend on how this all goes!

I'll admit I was a bit ambivalent about making something like this feature since the site focuses mostly on official Pokemon features, but you guys did vote that you wanted more fun features, and this is what came to mind.

P. S. Click my eggs. ;)

I'm back from a day without internet for a short update. I'm starting to populate our channel, Interactivity, which is essentially going to be what the Distractions menu was on the old PokeDS, a place for random fun things and little games, quizzes or whatever else! To start it off, I've migrated the old What's the Type? trivia quiz script over with a few changes to the layout, and I'm working on Mad Libs and Pokemon Randomness.

And on a similar note, since it's more of a "fun" feature than a useful one anyways, I did also make an RSE Secret Base Simulator a bit back for you guys to play around with if you'd like!

Enjoy the new features as always. Seeya guys around!

Just a bit earlier if you had looked up things here on PokeDS's Pokedex, you would be missing out on lots of useful bits of information, such as Poison Heal Gliscor getting Roost. Indeed, including neither past gen nor Black and White 2 move tutors hindered the usefulness of PokeDS' Pokedex, so I'm pleased to say that I've finally gotten that out of the way and updated Pokemon's dex pages with all move tutor moves!

Otherwise, I've been programming, and I made two new calculators for you guys to look at: a cleaner Javascript version of the Moveset Type Effectiveness Viewer and an IV Calculator. Enjoy these new tools!

There's still much work to be done around PokeDS though, and I'll be doing it. So until later, seeya guys around the site!

Alright guys, do you remember Pokemon Faceoff?

The leaderboards were pretty messed up for a while because of a problem with the ranking algorithm and script in general that could be abused, but I went ahead and fixed that up. Unfortunately, I also had to reset the scoreboard. However, to make up for it, I went ahead and added a personal leaderboard. This means, if you're logged in, Pokemon Faceoff now keeps a separate ranking of Pokemon based on your votes. So essentially, if you play Pokemon Faceoff enough, you can find our your personal favorite Pokemon!

In addition to that, I went ahead and made some small fixes around the site like finally fixing up the channels portal to be a little more useful, and I've been playing around with possibly revamping the main page of the site.

All in all, this is mostly a small announcement about Pokemon Faceoff being fixed, so until later, see you guys around PokeDS.

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I also made some backend changes that should help in the migration of old interactive content like most of the stuff in the Distractions section on Old PokeDS. So stay tuned for seeing old features like Pokemon Type Trivia and more make a comeback!

Alright guys, I had a sudden spur of impulse that made me decide to go off on a limb and make a new theme for the site! This site theme is based on green, my personal favorite color, and is partially an homage to the tropical layout used by Old PokeDS.

To accommodate for this new theme, I added a styleswitcher to the site! Many of you guys may have looked at the little Absol icon on the far left of the navbar and wonder what he was supposed to do. Well, now if you hover over him, you get a drop down to change the site style. So, enjoy the new look for PokeDS if you choose to use it! (I probably will just because I love green so much haha. )

And in other news, I've started to get into the works of revamping our old Moveset Type Effectiveness Calculator. This tool, used to view custom type charts based on a team of Pokemon's moves is incredibly old and was one of the first features ever made on PokeDS, but to this day, it pulls in most of our traffic.

I also want to add data on things like tiers to the PokeDS database, so I can use them in calculations done by the site, but I sort of want to wait until the metagame changes from Black and White 2 have calmed and stabilized a bit haha. And speaking of competitive battling, don't forget to check out PokeDS Competitive Battling Community if you're interested in hanging out with battlers or learning battling through Facebook.

That said, hey, it's been a while since I've heard from you guys. Is there anything you would really, really like to see on PokeDS? I'm always looking to improve the site though lately while I have many ideas for things to add to the site, I'm honestly not sure what my best course of action is.

That said, seeya guys around as always! Wee~

Edit: I went ahead and made this new theme the default style for PokeDS haha. Happy Spring, guys? Ahh dangit, Spring's almost over. XD

Today, we've partnered up with the Facebook group Pokemon Battling Community (now PokeDS Battling Community), a very active group for people who love competitive battling to share their knowledge and for newbies to learn the ropes by receiving help from more experienced battlers.

From the group's description:

Quote
Looking for a small friendly competitive Pokemon battling community? Well then this place for you! It doesn't matter whether or not you're someone who just started yesterday - we're here to help, or if you're a veteran of many hard fought battles - please share your knowledge with us by helping out people with their difficult Pokemon related problems and even revising and contributing to our documents.

The group is well-maintained by a group of admins, which includes our very own Lohrak, and also have worked together to write documents to help newbies learn competitive battling, such as their Competitive Battling Basics Guide. So if you're interested in joining an active Facebook group about competitive battling, check them out!

Otherwise, be sure to welcome any new members to PokeDS from the group. This partnership will only help to grow both communities, I think. So until later, see you guys around PokeDS! (or PokeDS Battling Community!)

I hope keeping up with all the Black and White 2 news has been keeping you guys on your toes! And Pokemon Conquest for the US! All in all, it's been a pretty lively week for the Pokemon world, and for PokeDS.. Well, things are only going to get more exciting here. :D

Those of you who've been keeping up in the chat know that I had been working on a Damage Calculator. It's still a work in progress because I need to go and implement all the abilities and items that affect moves, and I'll probably also add additional features like entering custom base stats or moves power factors.

But for now, the calculator mostly works and you can go ahead and try it and see if it's something you'd be interested in using. (And make suggestions on improvements to it! Suggestions are always welcome on PokeDS.)

And in other news, I made a coloring pages section based on the linearts for our Original Artwork set project. If you're artistic, feel free to color away at these as you wish! Otherwise, I've been looking back at the old PokeDS and thinking about features I still need to transfer over here. I started working on a new version of the poll script, and I'll probably try to get the fun section with all its trivia and mad-lib goodness back here sometime soon.

So until later, enjoy the site (and the new games if you're playing those). Toodles!

So for past week or two, a few things have been added around PokeDS once again. For example, you can now add friend codes to your profile, a feature suggested by lohrak, which I hope will make networking with Pokemon Wi-Fi on PokeDS a little easier in the future!

Furthermore, I've been working a bit at the galleries, and you can now view art by the Pokemon featured in them. While currently we certainly don't have art for every Pokemon, I've also been sketching and drawing away to try to help fill up the Pokemon gallery sections! I'm also trying to add Artdex Mode soon where it should be easier to view which Pokemon have art and how much.

Any lastly, I'd like to say that lohrak has joined PokeDS as a writer and he's been rocking it out in the game guides section! lohrak is an awesome dude who loves Pokemon a lot, so give him a round for the help he's been giving around PokeDS!

So it's been a while since you've heard from me in the news department, but I've certainly been working away at some features!

Some small things include the latest activity stream for user profile pages, also including profile comments... Which most of you guys already got a taste of from me a few days back haha!

In addition to that, thanks to the awesome Xavier, we now have galleries! So feel free to browse some art and submit your own. Our galleries here are unlike most galleries in that it automatically searches for Pokemon names in tags and indexes artwork based on the Pokemon that appear in it. Later, we'll be taking advantage of this feature to make Project Artdex where we categorize art submissions based on the Pokemon appearing in them and more.

Finally, to make it easier for you to keep up with the community here, I've added a new option for the main page: User Activity. Just click on the "Activity" tab on PokeDS home, and you'll be set to see a feed of all the latest things added on the site by users!

Enjoy the new features and see you guys all around the site!
