Alright, now that I've had plenty of time to wrap myself around college life, I think it's safe to say I don't really have any excuses not to be updating PokeDS!

Anyways, I woke up this morning and decided to fix a few things that have bothered me about PokeDS. Adoptables, namely, were a bit underfeatured and rather glitchy. Specifically, I went through and made the following changes:
  • The Berry Tree was previously glitched, so it didn't add berries each try but instead replaced your berry count. This has been fixed.
  • Points (which were never fully implemented on the site anyways) were done away with and that link on the drop down menu now shows your berries.
  • Evolution for adoptables didn't work previously. Your adoptables should now evolve when they reach the right level!
  • You can now nickname your adoptables when they hatch. In addition, you can add descriptions to their profiles.
  • You can now feed berries to your Pokemon to speed up their leveling.

And that's all for now. Enjoy the small tweaks to adoptables and seeya guys around. Next time, maybe I'll try looking into what I can do about fixing up that damage calculator and search bar.

Edit: To celebrate finally making berries useful, I decided to add a slot machine feature for you guys. Enjoy. :)

Man, time really does sure past I might say! Feels like just yesterday for me when we first heard that instead of Pokemon Grey, we'd be getting Black and White sequels. And maybe it was like two hours ago when Black and White 2 came out in Japan.

All I can say is... Black and White are coming out in the US on

October 7, 2012

That means it's just a bit over a week from now when we'll be getting our Kyurem and Keldeo formes! So, how many of you guys will be buying the game launch day? Which version will you be getting?

It was a week since the commencement of the PokeDS tournament when the finals took place at around 2:30 AM on a Sunday mornevening after a long, exciting journey of waiting for both finalists to show up at the same time.

The battle pitted Celery (#72) against the beyond_belief (#134) and ended up leaving Celery (#72) the champion. For those of you who weren't around to see it, stick around because some users recorded the battle.

Otherwise, I went ahead and made a thread for tournament warstories.

So as Round 3 of the tournament draws close to its end, we have weeded out inactive players and hopefully will progress quicker. With school days coming back, most battles may take place only in the afternoon. Brackets are viewable here

In other news, I've added a forum topic for adding/revising guides to the site. We have a good number of guides, but hopefully we can add more to the site! We only have a handful of people with writing privileges but with near 150 members, we can get more perspectives and have a larger number of guides to help out other users.

After a successful first day, the tournament has managed to complete the first round!

Unfortunately some people had a several urgencies to attend to and could not continue, but luckily we had some substitute battlers.

The brackets are updated to reflect current matchups. Some Round 2 matches have been completed due to absences and timezone differences, but we still have many to get through today.

Just so you're aware, those who did not show up gained a loss, since we cannot allow it to obstruct the progression. Hopefully you can make it for the second round. Don't miss out!

The PokeDS tournament is officially under way. Already we've had a lot of exciting battles, with many more to continue. To make things easier on Lohrak, a thread in the forums (here) has been created to record results. Please post results the forum and include a screenshot if at all possible. Best of luck to everyone, may the best battler win!

If you've paid enough attention during the past month, you probably heard about the upcoming tournament for PokeDS. Well, today was the last day, and we hit a perfect number of 32 entrants, so signups are closed.

Brackets are already out, and viewable a few days before we start. Even if you didn't join the tournament, you might not want to miss out on these epic battles! The server we will be using is this one.

The simulator is Pokemon Showdown, which is really useful for those of you wanting to try a simulator but do not want to download anything, since it's browser-based!

Anyway, be sure to check it out, more news will be coming soon for this first tourney!

Hello all. Just popping in to announce the unveiling of a new layout I designed, called Dragon Pulse. (It was originally going to be titled "Dragon Rush" but it seems that Haxorus, the Pokemon whose color scheme inspired this layout doesn't even learn Dragon Rush) It's a purple and yellowish-green layout with lots of sleek rounded corners. Yay border-radius!

It's a bit bright, in my opinion, so if you'd like me to tone down the colors a bit please don't hesitate to say something. Otherwise, enjoy Dragon Pulse!

Come be a part of history and sign up today for the PokeDS Back-to-School Tournament!

That's right, the PokeDS Battling Community is hosting it's first official PokeDS online battling tournament. Battlers will be able to duke it out on September 1st to see who is the best of the best of PokeDS. The tournament will be held on Pokemon Showdown so everyone can participate. The tournament will be standard Smogon OU and we will give out prizes to the top 3 battlers. We are still ironing out all of the logistics of the tournament so we will update you as soon we can.

Registration can be found on the forums and will be closed August 29th.
